My Hat Find & 3 Fall Musts

Hey Guys!

So as you know (if you've been reading), my hubby and I spent this past weekend in Niagara celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary! To read that post click here! While we were there I came across this adorable hat shop called Baue Chapeau (even an adorable name!). Unfortunately their online selection is not even close to the amazingness that is in-store. The hat style that I purchased is called "Cloche" and was a popular style in the 1920's/30's.

Check out the hat... (it's more of a deep maroon/purple as shown in the second picture)

I am a SUCKER for packaging and pretty boxes. This hat box took the cake. Look how pretty???

I am totally loving this wine/maroon/deep purple (whatever you want to call it) colour right now. It's so nice for fall and carries nicely into winter. This hat was $59.00, which I thought was a pretty amazing price for a beautifully crafted, timeless piece.

Next up, some fall staples I can't live without...

1. Flannels! They are comfy, fashionable and warm. I actually bought one for $3.99 at Value Village and then studded it up to add some flare. Check it out here!

2. Puffy vests are back. I loved them in the early 2000's and I love them again now. So convenient and multifunctional. They've got some really cute styles and finishes out there! This is one of my faves, check it out here.

3. Leather leggings. They are a go to for the last few seasons now. I'd say they are a pretty timeless number so it might be a good idea to invest in a quality pair. They can be dressed up and dressed down, super easy to wear and very on trend.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Stay tuned, next up I will be doing a step by step eye look ;)

Weekend Away in Niagara

Hi Guys!

This past weekend my husband, Kennedy and I went away to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary in Niagara! This time last year we were preparing to head off on our honeymoon. I did a blog post exactly one year ago all about our wedding and the different vendors etc. to read up on that post click here!

This weekend was amazing, we stayed right along the Falls (for two nights) but spent one day in Niagara on The Lake. We stayed at the Tower Hotel, located downtown Niagara Falls. Our room was beautiful, there wasn't many amenities to speak of but we got over that quickly. Saturday we spent the day gazing at the falls and taking lovely walks along the grounds, the landscaping and gardening was beautiful!

Later in the afternoon we went to the Butterfly Conservatory. We had both been there before for our grade 5 class trip but not again since! It was much more interesting as an adult with patience lol. We really enjoyed walking around the warm tropical oasis looking at all the beautiful butterflies and plants. Check out a video I took while I was there here! We spent the second portion of the afternoon walking up Clifton Hill enjoying some treats and looking at all the crazy tourist attractions. That night, we saw an awesome live performance and had a few too many drinks ;)

Sunday, we checked out of our hotel and headed to Niagara on the Lake for brunch at the Charles Inn. Needless to say, it was one of the best meals we have ever had. The old victorian home was a beautiful and romantic setting. I highly recommend it!

After brunch we headed downtown Niagara on the Lake and did some shopping! Whenever we go away we have a tradition of buying ourselves something timeless that we will use forever (it has to be the same thing, not the same style but same "thing"). This time it was hats! There was a beautiful shop called Beau Chapeau along the main road (Queen Street), we each picked up a beautiful hat (I will be doing a more thorough post on my hat and incorporating some fall fashion/beauty must haves - so stay tuned for that). Kennedy is sporting his below... There were so many adorable and unique shops! Just Christmas - was my heaven on earth!

Later that afternoon we headed back to London to meet my parents for Dinner at Sunningdale - where we had our wedding one year ago yesterday! It was a perfect end to a perfect weekend!

Gold&Cran Fall Eye Look Step by Step

Hey Guys!

Here is another step by step for you! This is one of my fav looks :) If your interested in looking through other step by step looks I've created head to the search engine and type in step by step. Golden, pink and cranberry hues on the eyes - complementing a cranberry/sangria blush, golden highlight and soft pink lips! Here is the look:

Here are the steps to recreate this look yourself!

1. As always, start with a clean primed eye lid!

2. Apply a gold/pink pigment all over the lid. I used one from Makeup For Ever, Pink Gold 916.

3. Apply a cranberry eyeshadow in the outer crease. I used "cranberry" by MAC.

4. Apply the cranberry shade in the inner corner and inner crease blending into the upper crease to meet the colour in the outer corner.

5. Apply a brow highlight, I used just a matte cream colour as the other two lid colours I used were a shimmer finish I don't want my whole eye to look shimmery.

6. Apply the same gold/pink pigment along the lower lash line just in the centre, mirroring the upper lid.

7. Apply the cranberry shade along the lower lash line just in the inner and outer corners, mirroring the upper lid.

8. Apply lashes and liquid liner and you're set!

Try this pretty fall eye look out this week and let me know how it goes!

Fake Bake Flawless Self Tan Review

Hey Guys!

As you all probably know by now, I love my self tanners! I'm always open to trying new ones and comparing them to my favourites. I recently purchased the Fake Bake Flawless Self Tan Liquid from Lash Queen of London located in Byron (while getting my lashes filled). I had just finished my bottle of Vita Liberata Self Tanning Mouse which I swear by and still love, but it was time for another bottle and I thought I'd try something new!

As soon as I opened the box I was impressed. You get two plastic gloves as well as a mitt (the extra hand protection is nice!). First off, the mitt is amazing! It is so thick and durable, unlike other tanning mitts I've used in the past that tend to fall apart after multiple uses. I think this mitt is going to last me a long time with its cloth like fabric! Also, the side you apply the product is already brown so you don't have this nasty-brown-stained mitt lying around.

The actual product itself is super liquidy, which I wasn't expecting but ending up really liking! You are provided with a spray bottle nozzle to replace the screw cap (which is great for traveling). You then spritz a few sprays of the tanner onto the mitt and apply from head to toe. Because of it's super light weight texture I was able to use it on my face no problem! The liquid tanner is tinted so you can see where you are putting it and you get immediate results. I felt super dark right after applying it and woke up this morning with a nice golden tan!

What comes in the box...

All in all I think it's safe to say I have a new addition to my list of favourite self tanners! Stay bronzey ;)

Pinterest Eye Look Step-by-Step #2

Hey Guys!

So here is another eye look I found on Pinterest and decided to recreate it! Now again, same as last pinterest eye post, keep in mind the pinterest photo is airbrushed almost to the point of looking animated and taken with a professional camera. Where my look is not edited at all and taken with my iPhone :)

Here is the Pinterest look...

Here is my take on the look...

Step by step on how to create the look...

1. In order to make bright colours pop I always apply a white cream shadow/liner base. This helps the colours look more true and also acts as a primer.

2. Apply an orange on the inner corner and a bright pink on the outer corner (or any colour you would like!)

3. After softening/blending the orange and the pink just so they are barely touching, trace your crease with a small stiff brush. This doesn't have to look perfect as you will be blending it out. Use brown or black or a dark colour of your choosing!

4. Use a smudge brush to soften the cut crease even further. Follow up with a fluffier blending brush and a lighter brown (or lighter hue of whatever colour you decided to cut your crease with).

5. Apply a brow highlight and soften the crease colour into the highlight.

6. Apply liquid liner and mascara and smudge some black shadow along the lower lash line blending into the wing. Apply a white eye liner to the inner rim!

What a fun look! Have some free time? Try it out yourself! If you don't try you will never know if you can do it! It's much easier then it looks, trust me! Have a great day guys!

Product 411 - Fakeup

Hey Guys!

Haven't done one of these in a while eh!? I used to do product 411's a lot more and I'm going to start them up again! Today's Product 411 is on the new-ish Benefit Concealer "Fakeup." There are a few reasons I decided to blog about this product, first off I personally love it and it's the concealer I've been waiting for my whole life. Secondly, I have been getting a lot of requests lately asking me about pictures I post of clients, either before and after's or just "looks" and how I achieve that "lightness through the t-zone". Well here goes...

What I love about this product:

- so hydrating for the under eye area

- never looks cakey or dry

- doesn't draw attention to fine lines and wrinkles

- looks super natural

- medium coverage

- I use the "light" shade on practically EVERYONE

- can be used to highlight when contouring

- easy applicator stick

- great for adding hydration and coverage to a dry flakey pimple

- great for dry under eyes that tend to look cakey with most concealers

A closer look at the product...

The style of applicator/packaging is like a lipstick style, it rolls up and rolls down. That ring you see around the outside of the product is almost like a moisturizer, then inside is where the concealer is. As you apply it they mix together creating an amazingly hydrated and creamy application.

Below is a picture of one of my clients. I have drawn in where and how I apply the product. Using small strokes I apply the product in V shapes with three lines...

I apply this product after I've applied foundation. Using a small concealer buffing brush I then use small circular motions and smooth the product into the skin blending it into the foundation for a natural finish! All in all I LOVE this product and highly recommend it!

Rainy Day Shop

Today was pretty gloomy and crappy out so I decided to do a little shopping! I lucked out and found lots of amazing finds. In this post I'm going to share specifically my finds from Target and Forever 21...

For all of these accessories it cost just less then $30.00 CAN, how amazing!? I am all about crosses, studs, spikes and neons mixed with metals right now. I thought these pieces would be a great add on to my current jewelry collection, giving me more options to create the neon/metal look. I just ordered a phone case that's black with a mint green leopard print cross on the back - saw these earrings and they were a must have!

Next up, Target! Gotta love that Target came to Canada finally. I have been a target customer for years, going over to the states to purchase goodies. It's nice to now be able to support Canada and purchase product here! There are some amazing brands/names in Target Canada as well...

Nate Berkus' decor line, Sonia Kashuk's cosmetics and makeup brushes and Target's own Archer Farms food line, as well as items from some of this country's top design talents, like the iconic Roots label, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

The last few times I visited Target I picked up this bag, each time putting it back down but continuing to think about it. Finally today I went in and it was marked down to clearance for $24.99 CAN, so I grabbed it! I love the neon accents and black piping. I really enjoy mixing tans/neutrals with neons, it's a great look. This bag also features a really chunky plastic neon zipper which I think is a totally funky detail.

Lastly, these chic strapped heels also from Target. Snagged these guys for $29.99 CAN. Love the studded detailing as well as the zipper up the back (not shown). I had been searching for this style of heel and just hadn't found the right pair. These ones are comfortable, not to high (as I'm already a good height) and have some great details. Excited to start pairing these with some different outfits, creating a new look each time!

Happy Tuesday, enjoy the rest of your week and stay fab ;)

Vacation Must-Haves

Hey Guys!

We just got back from Cuba yesterday and had a fabulous time! Sometimes packing can be a little stressful for people "What will I need?" "Will I like this on once I get there?" "Have I packed enough?" the list of questions goes on and on. These are three things I ask myself while packing clothes...

1. Have I worn this in the last two months?

Because if you haven't, it's likely that you wont wear it on vacation.

2. Is it comfortable?

To me, comfort is extremely important. Especially on vacation, the worst is bringing a bunch of items that you actually find more trouble then they're worth. Usually comfort has a lot to do with fit. If something fits  well its usually very comfortable if it's too big here or too small there you may fidget with it, which is never comfortable.

3. How many ways can I wear this?

It's important to pack items that can be worn all together. I like to pack things that I know I can wear a couple times in different ways. Creating a new look each time.

Now for some of my must-have travel items...

Tide Travel Sink Packets

As I mentioned earlier, I like to make sure I'm able to wear one item with a few different outfits. Now you may not have to wash the item after wearing it depending, but just incase of a spill or excessive sweating its nice to have to option to do a quick hand wash if need be. I swear by these little guys, you just fill up the sink or bath with warm water and do a quick hand wash of a couple items, rinse and hang to dry.

Tide to-go Stick

Tide to-go sticks are a life saver! I always have one in my purse even when I'm not traveling. But they are especially essential when traveling. During a long day of eating meals on the go a little stain or spill is somewhat bound to happen. I absolutely hate walking around with a stain on my clothes so it's great having one of these on hand for a quick fix!

Beautifying Oil

I'm a moisturizing freak. Especially when I'm vacationing some where sunny. After a long day in the sun all I want to do is shower and drench myself in oil or moisture from head to toe. This Beautifying Oil from the Body Shop is SO convient and amazing. It can be used on your hair, body and face eliminating the need to pack three separate items! It comes in many different classic Body Shop scents. With a very affordable price point of $14 CAN for one bottle!

Jewellery Bag

I love to accessorize so cutting back on the jewellery I pack isn't really an option. But what is an option is packing it in a way that saves a ton of space and is super convient to sift through once you unpack. I have an amazing one from Stella and Dot that I received as a hostess gift for having a party. They sell a ton of great options, I love the Multicoloured Striped Jewellery Roll...

Manicure Set

If you are like me, before I go away I usually get a manicure and pedicure to ensure long lasting groomed nails. But the worst thing is getting a hang nail, breaking a nail, chipping a nail and having nothing to fix it with! So I always bring a little travel manicure set as well as a back of polish (either the colour that your nails are painted or one close to it, to fill chips or repaint if needed). Ton's of options for sets, check out some Sephora offers here.

Now, when it comes to makeup - some may be shocked by this - but I pack extremely light and only bring a few key items. This list only pertains to tropical trips/some where warm and relaxing. Where I know wearing a lot of makeup is just not what I want to do. Now if this was a trip to NYC or Boston, completely different story! I'd probably pack my whole kit ;)

These are the items I pack, click on each to see some of my favourites!

Tinted Moisturizer

Bronzer

Bronzy brown cream eye shadow (or a colour that suits you well)

Blush

Blush/Bronzer Brush

Eye brow powder/brush to apply it

Cream Highlighter

Mascara/Liquid Liner

...That's it!

Hope this helped you guys out and maybe gave you some ideas on what to pack for your next vacay! Happy long weekend my lovlies :) Thanks for reading!

Girlie Bridesmaid Eye Look Step-by-Step

Hey Guys!

With wedding season swinging into full gear I thought I'd do a wedding inspired look today. This look is great for any occasion but it is especially girlie and elegant and perfect for a bridesmaid or even a bride!

Here goes...

1. Apply a rose pink matte shadow all over the primed lid. Here I used Makeup For Ever Eye Shadow in "Cotton Candy" #88.

 2. Apply a light brown matte shadow into the crease and blend. Here I used Laura Mercier Eye Colour in "Cafe Au Lait."

3. Apply a matte brow highlight onto the brow bone just under the eyebrow and blend out. Here I used Laura Mercier Eye Shadow in "Vanilla Nuts."

4. Take some Glitter Glue and apply a little bit of loose sparkles to the centre of the lid. (This glitter I used is unfortunately discontinued but easy to find one like it - it's white with pink and gold).

5. Blend out the edges of the glitter with a pinky gold shadow to match. This will help the glitter look faded into the pink. I used "Scratch" by Urban Decay which is a Rose Gold Shimmer.

6. Apply liquid liner and lashes and then apply a white eye liner to the water line. I used Le Crayon Khol by Lancome in "Blanc" - any white liner will do. Be sure not to smudge this into the lash line as that can look messy, especially for the effect we're going for (clean and crisp).

7. Take a sharp flat liner brush and apply a dark brown shadow just below the lash line. Approach the application from underneath the lower lash eyelashes. This will help the eye's appear very large. Filling in the water line with white and creating a new lash line just below your natural line will make the eyes appear wider.

8. Apply mascara to the lower lashes.

Ta-dah! Pair with a peachy pink lip stick and there you have it, fresh faced, girlie and glowing!

Hope that helps some of you out and have an amazing rest of your week!

Teal Eye Look Step-by-Step

Hey Guys!

Thought I'd do something a little more extravagant today! With proms coming up and all sorts of reasons to glam up I thought I'd share something different! My mom got me all these amazing beautiful pigments from MAC for Christmas from their limited edition Guilty Passions set. There were four in the set and they are "Brilliantly Cool Crushed Metallic Pigments" - I used "Spruced" for this look.

Here is the look and step by step instructions!

1. Apply a bright coloured pigment to the center of the eye lid using your finger or a dense flat brush.

2. Apply a dark or black shadow to the outer and inner corners in a V shape (doesn't have to be perfect).

3. Soften and blend with a blending brush. Take your time and blend carefully as not to overlap the pigment too much.

4. Apply a white liner to really define the brown right along the edge of the brow.

5. Blend out the white liner then apply a warmer tone highlight to blend that into the crease. I used "Motif" by MAC - it is gold with a purple iridescent. I also applied "Shroom" by MAC directly over top of the white liner to make it pop and add a satin finish.

6. Apply the same bright pigment you used and apply it to the center of the lower lash line. Mimic what you did on top by applying black to the inner and outer corners of the lower lash line. Apply your liquid liner and lashes and done!

**Extra Step** You can stop there or continue on by dragging the black shadow out and down to mimic the shape of the upper lid. Blend it down and fill it with white liner wings or even just a white eye shadow softly blending outwards.

Here is a close up...

Hope you guys enjoyed! Have a wonderful rest of your week! oXo

Gradient Smokey Eye Step-by-Step

Hey Guys!

Here is another step-by-step how to eye look! This one is a gradient smokey eye. I used four distinct different colours but by blending properly they all look cohesive. Try this look with any colours you want!

1. Pack a black shadow onto the eyelid using a stiff flat brush.

2. Blend out the edge of the shadow into the crease to soften using a blending brush and a little more black shadow.

3. Use the same blending brush to apply another colour into the crease. I used a cranberry shade.

4. Apply a brighter colour very softly onto the edge of the last colour applied with a blending brush. I used a bright orange. Using a bright colour will really add that faded look but wont look nearly as bright on.

5. Apply a complimenting colour to the crease colour in the corner of the eye/tear duct area. I used a lavender to compliment the cranberry.

6. Apply a brown highlight and then blend out.

7. You can choose to leave out this step for a softer look. I took a makeup wipe and carved a clean angle at the edge of my shadow application.

8. Apply liquid liner, mascara and lashes and ta-dah! The completed look :)

** Throughout the steps you may have to go back and reapply more of a certain colour if you have lost some of it while applying another colour. For example, at the end, I went back and packed on more black shadow onto the lid to bring the boldness back.

Here is a closer look at the products I used:

1. Korres - Lavender (discontinued)

2. MAC - Carbon

3. Lise Watier - Cranberry (discontinued)

4. Stila - Mimosa

5. Smashbox - Artificial Light Luminizing Powder (discontinued)

Sorry so many things are discontinued! But it is super easy to find very similar colours from other brands or even the same brand!

Here is the finished eye:

Flawless Complexion

Hey Guys!

I have had a few requests about doing a flawless foundation step-by-step so here it is, honouring your inquires! In the past I posted a few youtube videos and I did do one on My Foundation Routine, which by the way is constantly changing! As for my youtube videos I don't know if I plan on getting back into posting them or not. I enjoying blogging and sharing with you guys but I don't know if the youtube thing is for me. When it comes to this industry you have to choose your distinct path. I think doing youtube videos may be taking me in too many different directions. I would like to stay more streamlined in my business as a free-lance artist that has an active social media presence. I think being a youtube makeup artist is a whole other ball game! We will see though, maybe down the road I might pick them up again.

In this post, I'm going to share more of my approach to achieving a flawless complexion on myself as well as my clients. A basic guide for what goes threw my mind when sitting down with a client or at my makeup mirror. Again, every makeup artist is different and this just happens to be my method! In artistic industries like this one, it's important to have your own flare and uniqueness but it's also about being constantly inspired by others.

Step One (and personally the most important step): Skin Care

It is crucial to take care of your skin. This will affect how makeup looks on the skin, how long it lasts and how effective it will be. The three key steps are:

1. Cleanse

2. Exfoliate (whether you use a daily exfoliator that doubles as a cleanser or an exfoliator only to be used 2-3 times a week or as directed)

3. Hydrate

Completing these three steps daily is important to being able to achieve a flawless complexion. Personally I do my cleansing and exfoliating at night and in the morning I use a water cleanser as not to over cleanse/dry out the skin.

I could do a whole other post on skin care in greater detail if you guys would like, but this is the basic information!

Step Two: Creating an Ideal Canvas

With your already clean, moisturized skin you want to apply a base/primer. To me, a base does not have to be a primer it can be many other things. Choose a base that works for your skin, as everyone is different. You can also choose a base based on the look you are trying to achieve. For example, I like to use an illuminating tinted moisturizer as my base. This will create a glow from underneath your foundation. Another option is a self-tanner or a bronzing gel to give an added glow and deepen your complexion (be sure to apply all the way down your neck). You could also use a BB Cream for added coverage or an oil controlling primer if you struggle with oily skin. I apply my base with the same brush I use to apply my foundation but feel free to use something else.

Here is step two, I've just applied my Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer all over.

Step Three: Foundation Application

Personally, I like to use a kabuki brush or a buffing brush to apply the foundation. I focus my application in the centre of my face blending outward. As most problem areas tend to be in the centre (large pores, spots etc). First off I have applied my foundation where I wish to focus it and in the second shot I have used my kabuki brush to blend it out. Today I am using Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in #155. You will notice it has a bit of a yellow undertone as I am trying to correct the natural redness in my skin.

Step Four: Conceal/Highlight

I choose to do my concealing and some of my highlighting in this next step. First off I conceal any spots or scars with a concealer that matches my complexion. In the next picture I am applying a concealer that is slightly lighter under my eyes and anywhere else I would like to lighten/highlight. Today I am using Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Medium as my spot concealer and Benefit Fake Up in Light as my under eye/highlight.

Step Five: Set

Before I go any further I set what I have done with a light dusting of powder. Today I used Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus. You will notice shine is reduced and everything looks a little more matte.

Step Six: Bronzer Blush and Highlight

I have done some posts on this in the past and here is a diagram I have created to help you with your application.

Bronzers I love:

Chocolate Soleil by Too Faced

Hourglass Waterproof Bronzer Superficial

Tarte Matte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer

Highlighter I love:

Eye Colour Part I: Hazel Eyes

Hey Guys!

This weekend I'm going to do a series of posts about shadows for different eye colours. I'm not one to say blue eye's must wear these colours and green eye's must wear another colour. I do however believe that there are certain colours that help eye colours pop. That being said this list of colours can be endless!

Here is a very general rule of thumb. The two colours opposite each other on the colour wheel help accentuate each other. I tend to group the colours in two's or three's. For example, Yellow, Yellow-Green and Green are accentuate by Red, Red-Violet and Violet. This is a tool you can use to help you find colour families that will suit you best!

I have hazel eye's so I did this look on myself. Tomorrow I will be posting a how-to on blue eye's! Hazel and green eyes can be in the same family depending on how light of a green, if you have a super light green eyes you may fall under the blue eye look as well (both would be flattering). My eye's are green somedays, yellow another and brown the next. Today they are a little bit of everything so this look could not only suit hazel and green but also brown! See what I mean by the possibilities are endless!? So to sum up this look could technically suit hazel, brown and green all very nicely.

1.Press on a purple shade with a dense flat brush (to help avoid fallout) on to the lid. I used Hepcat by MAC.

2. Apply the same purple shade along the lower lash line using a smudging brush or a liner brush.

3. Soften edges all around the eye using a blending brush.

4. Use same blending brush to apply a darker plum colour onto the outer corner of the eye lid. I used Sketch by MAC.

5. Apply the same dark plum shade along the lower lash line.

6. Apply a brow highlight. I used a white with pink iridescent to help accentuate the purple tones in the look.

7. Apply eye liner, mascara and lashes and there you have it!

Here are the three colours I used to do this look, see if they match something you have in your makeup bag!

From Left: Second most used shade in palette (Smashbox discontinued), Hepcat by MAC , Sketch by MAC

Hope this helped you guys out and like I said, this look can be flattering on most all eye colours it's just especially nice on hazel eyes!

Have a wonderful long weekend! oXo

Nars & Dior Review

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to review a couple products I recently purchased! A NARS blush and a Dior BB Cream...

I'm a BB cream and tinted moisturizer freak and I always like to try new ones to compare to my current faves. I grabbed the new BB cream from Dior, Dior Skin Nude BB Cream in 003. This is actually one of the more full coverage BB creams I've used. Personally, I love it! It hydrates and smooths away imperfections. This is what Sephora has to say about it...

Diorskin Nude BB Crème provides the benefits of skincare and makeup in a fresh and airy formula. Enhanced with mineralized floral water and a blend of antioxidants, it moisturizes, smoothes, protects, and corrects skin with sheer coverage. Available in four expert shades to match every skintone, the complexion is illuminated with a unique fresh glow and dewy finish.

(Dior Skin BB Cream in 003 - $48 CAN)

Next up, Nars Blush Seduction Limited Edition. I'm devastated that this blush is a limited edition. It is my ultimate blush colour, gives depth and a bit of a contour but also an amazing pop of colour! I may have to grab a couple of these and stock up. What's nice about this blush is you can totally customize your results. Pick up a little product and use a light buffing hand, and your left with just a nice subtle colour on the cheeks. Or pick up more with a heavier hand for a contour effect and a brighter pop of colour!

(NARS Blush in Seduction - Limited Edition $32)

I always use blush for eyeshadow and vice versa, here is this blush used as a shadow! I have Cranberry by MAC on the lid and this NARS blush in my crease! Get creative with how you use your products!

Hope you guys enjoyed this review! What's your favourite BB Cream? Don't you hate falling in love with a limited edition product? As always feel free to contact me with questions or blog post requests! oXo

Clarins Lip Perfector

Hey Guys!

I'm going to be talking about a product that's been on the market for a while but I wanted to share my love for it! A previous co-worker from Sephora who used to work for Clarins introduced it to me and I have been in love with it ever since!

The product is called Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. It is exactly that. Smooths out imperfections on the lip and makes them look plump with a beautiful creamy finish. The texture is soft and not overly sticky. This product comes in multiple shades but the three most common shades you will find are 01 Pink Shimmer, 02 Apricot Shimmer and 03 Nude Shimmer.

My personal fave is the 01 Pink...

I absolutely love the applicator. It's a spongy almost fuzzy applicator tip allows the product to glide on effortlessly!

You can find these glosses where Clarins product is sold. I purchase mine at the Beauty Boutique Shoppers in Masonville Mall (optimum points!). This product retails for $20!

Have a fabulous day beauties! oXo

Eve Lom & Sara Happ

Happy Saturday Everyone!

As I've mentioned before I am traveling a bit with work right now so I do apologize for my lack of posts. Although I'm trying to get them to you on nights alone in hotel beds ;). I was recently in a Murale in Calgary and omg it's my other heaven (first heaven being Sephora). For those of you that have never been to a Murale I highly recommend going. It's just like Sephora in that's it's a product playground but has some different brands to check out. Also, it's Canadian! Which is super great to support.

Of course I wanted to buy everything but I only picked up a couple key items to try. Two things that drew me to these products (which draw me to most products), the packaging and the story behind the brand. And of course the quality of the product, but thats a given. I bought some products from EVE LOM & Sara Happ that I will be chit chatting about in this post!

Dontcha think my hotel comforter made a great back drop for my product photos? I do :)

Sara Happ - One Luxe Balm $25 CAN

Sara Happ started her brand in the kitchen. She was the first to market the "lip scrub" and wanted to create not just another balm but the BEST balm. She has basically created an empire on lips scrubs and lip balms. That's all she sells and she does it well! With all of her products wrapped in her signature "nightstand worthy" gift box and bow, she really knows how to make you feel special when purchasing her product.

Since I have lip scrubs coming out of my ears (lip balms as well actually) I bought the lip balm. I was intrigued by the milky pink colour and the thick luscious texture. This balm is so thick, smooth and hydrating feeling. If you don't like that thick rich texture on the lips it may not be for you. I personally love the texture, also the finish it leaves is so pretty. It gives a milky muted pink colour to the lips, while it's not a cosmetic gloss and not intended to leave colour, it's just so glossy and creamy and looks great on any lip! The inspiration for this gloss is as follows:

The supple feel of a shimmery gold YSL calfskin bag. A bottle of Coco Chanel Mademoiselle. Your favorite camisole; soft, sweet, nude, girly and grand. The world doesn't need another lip balm. It needs the right one. Slip into this. - www.sarahapp.com

Hmm now I'm pretty sure that description sold me right there (I heart Luxury). I've kept the box and the bow because I just can't bring myself to throw it out. The gloss also comes in a tube form for those who prefer it.

EVE LOM - Cleanser (euro prices on the website but check out Murales website for Canadian pricing) I bought the 50mL for $55 CAN you literally need a drop of this stuff!

This is not any old cleanser my friends. It is a solid oil cleanser made up for four aromatic plant oils that warm up in your fingers. You are provided with the full facial massage step by step starting with under and behind your ears and finishing with a sinus massage. You totally don't have to do this every time but it's nice once in a while! You can massage onto dry skin with a full face of makeup, it will break down the makeup and cleanse your skin beautifully. You then take a specially woven 100% cotton Muslin Cloth and soak the cloth in hot hot water, ringing it out and letting it sit on your skin for 5 seconds, repeat 3 times (or just simply remove using downward strokes with the cloth if you don't have time for this pampering step). Finishing by running the Muslin Cloth under cold water and lay over face for 5 seconds to close pores, finish with your creams and what have you!

I am in LOVE. What an amazing cleanser/treat for your face! Leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth and not dried out at all, like most cleansers. I almost feel like I don't need a serum with this cleanser as it leaves a nice slip for your moisturizer to be applied on.

EVE LOM - Cuticle Cream $25 CAN (literally use the tiniest dab!)

What can I say? Hydrating, protecting, luxurious and long lasting. Put this product on everyday for a week and you wont need it again for a while! Or just pop it one whenever you feel you need it. This cuticule cream protects the skin around the nails and also promotes nail growth. Love it.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know if there are other EVE LOM/Sara Happ products you have used that you recommend! I am excited to explore more products from both these lines! Happy pampering ;)
