Liquid Liner Step-by-Step

Hey Guys!

For those of you who remember, a while ago I did a youtube tutorial on how I do my liquid liner. I have been recently posting "step-by-step" pictures on instagram so I thought I would do a step by step for the liquid liner look. Do you guys find my youtube tutorials helpful? Should I start doing them again? Please leave your answers in the comment section below or shoot me a message!

Makeup Room!

Hey Guys!

I just recently started re-organizing and re-decorating my makeup room. I thought I would share some of the neat things I found and ideas I had on how to do this! For those of you who love makeup and want to organize your personal collection a little better or for other makeup artists out there who need some inspiration! I know there are tons of youtube tutorials on different ways to organize your room but this is how I did mine!

First off I went to Solutions (my new favourite place). I checked to make sure they have a good return policy because I knew I wanted to buy a bunch of different things to see what worked and what didn't. Turned out, I used everything I bought and everything worked out perfectly!

They actually have a ton of cosmetic specific organizers which was awesome, go to their website and type in cosmetics or lipstick and they will all come up. I bought the "Lipstick Holder With 18 Spaces" ($13.99) as well as the nail polish holder.

Next up I wanted to organize my foundations. I actually used a "Letter Tray Organizer" ($9.99) for this and put my most used foundations, tinted moisturizers and primers face down in this. I was a bit worried about the bigger bottles fitting but everything did. I bought two of these.

I wanted a way to have my palettes out without taking up too much space, well my most used palettes anyways. So I grabbed the "File Rack" ($12.99) and I use this to stack my palettes in, the ones that are too short I just stand them upright. There were so many options for this, all sorts of file holders or magazine racks that could also work!

I wanted my most used lip glosses, lip liners, eye liners and mascaras close at hand so I bought four of the "Mesh Pencils Cups" (on sale for $3.99). Now the ones that I got have a little divider inside that splits the cube up into sections of four. These were on sale and they are not on the website so I think they are being discontinued but any of their pen holders will work! I bought about 6 of these and used the other ones in my big drawers to organize overflow. I also put my alchole bottles, makeup romover, setting spray ect. in another one.

I bought a couple "Mini 3 Drawer Organizer" ($9.99). I put my most used single eyeshadows, concealers, and setting powders in here. Love these!

All in all it was a very successful shop at Solutions and I totally recommend them or any other organizing storage store near you to complete your makeup room! Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below, I love hearing from you guys!

Our Wedding!

Hey Guys!

So happy to be home and back doing what I love. Thank you to everyone for being patient with your requests and bookings. As promised, I am doing a little blog post on my Wedding! There were some amazing, talented professionals involved in the day and I would like to share them with you guys! I don't have all my pictures yet, just a preview of a couple that I will share. I'm sharing with you the main points of the wedding and if you are planning a wedding how far ahead you should book things. I feel like my timing was perfect with what I had booked, I was able to get everything into place on time and there was really no last minute scrambling. If you have any further questions about all things wedding feel free to post in the comments or message me and I will go into more detail for you!

Location (booked about 2 years before hand) - Sunningdale Golf and Country Club

I was absolutely thrilled with the service.  I had someone help me plan everything from start to finish, food, drinks, timing of the evening etc etc. She was an amazing help and went above and beyond constantly. The night went so smoothly, the food was all served together and was piping hot and delicious. Since our wedding was Thanksgiving weekend we served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with a Pie Bar for dessert! I highly recommend booking your wedding with Sunningdale, they are awesome! When I have my pictures I will post a selection so you guys can see what the room and decore looked like.

Photographer (booked about 1.5 years before hand) - Jess Shields Photography

She was AMAZING! I felt like I had a girlfriend there with me taking pictures and having fun along the way. She was very professional, was so keen on all my ideas and helping me make my vision come to life. She is extremely talented and creative and her prices are perfectly reasonable. Going to continue to use Jess for all important events coming up in our lives, maternity photos, family photos etc etc. Thanks again Jess! Here are some pictures...

Photobooth (booked 1.5 years before hand) - MUGZ Photobooth

This was the attraction of the night! Everyone had so much fun running in and out of this booth, taking fun and crazy pictures! This would count as a favour for your guests as well. As each guest goes home with every picture they were in in the booth! Here are some pictures from the night and what the print out that your guests will receive looks like...

Dress (purchased about 1 year and 4 months before)  - Kleinfelds

I LOVE my dress! Absolutely perfect. My experience at Kleinfelds was so memorable and if you can do it I highly recommend making the trip to NYC. Every dress you can imagine and a very wide range of price points and sizes.

Hair and Makeup (suggest you book hair/makeup at least 4-5 months ahead)

As you all can assume I did my own makeup and hair for my wedding (so if you liked it, contact me for your wedding!). Since I am lucky enough to know so many talented artists I was able to hire a couple good friends and colleagues. Britt Havens did the hair styling for my bridesmaids, she is an amazingly talented young woman and I highly recommend her for your next event! I had Jackie Boldock do the girls and my mothers makeup, everyone was thrilled! Jackie is an UNREAL artist, with loads of experience!

Cupcakes and Cake (suggest about 8 months before hand) - Boombox Bake Shop

They were absolutely delicious! Homemade, and you could taste the love every bite! Highly recommend booking with Boombox

The Flowers (booked about 1.5 years before hand) - Springhill Flowers

Mary at Springhill is absolutely AMAZING! She completely understood exactly what I wanted.  She made my vision come to life through her amazingly talented and creative work with flowers. I was blown away when she arrived the morning of the wedding with the bouquets, they were exactly what I had envisioned and I couldn't have done it better myself! I HIGHLY recommend booking with Springhill, you will be completely taken care of and given exactly what you want for the price you want. Thanks again Mary and Springhill! Here is my bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets...

My Headpiece (hand made by Monica Viani) -

Monica is my husband's Aunt and she is unbelievably talented! She has a huge background in hat making for theaters and is extremely experienced! We were able to work together to create exactly what I wanted. She has an eye for beauty and made a stunning headpiece for me that is of amazing quality. Highly recommend her for creating your wedding accessories! (you can check out the headpiece in all the pictures posted above!)

My Shoes - TOMS wedding collection

This was the best decision ever! My feet were in absolute heaven all day! Since my dress was so big no one really saw my feet but when they did I had these adorable pink satin TOMS peeking out. SOOOOO comfortable I was able to dance the night away! At the end of the night the one thing that didn't feel completely and utterly exhausted were my feet, yay! My Husband also wore TOMS, his were black perforated leather and he was just as comfortable, actually in his words he siad he felt like a Ninja in them... ?? Guess thats good! We got some really cute pictures of the two pairs of TOMS together, can't wait to see the rest of my professional pictures! I will totally share more then I get them ;)

This was the best day of my life and it made me feel so loved and special.  I am so lucky to have the family and friends that I do and this day made me realize that even more! I married the man of my dreams and I am so excited to spend the rest of our lives together with our friends and family close by! Hope you all enjoyed this and if you are planning your wedding I wish you all the best! And if your just a wedding junkie I hope this scratched an itch! Talk soon, muah! oXo

New Foundation Reviews

Hey Guys!

OK, so there has been a ton of foundations launched as of late, and I thought I would give you my personal opinion on a few of them...

Benefit "Hello Flawless" Oxygen Wow Foundation

I am LOVING this one. It's nice and lightweight in texture, perfect for people who are used to wearing a tinted moisturizer and don't like the heavy feeling of foundation... but would like a little bit more coverage.  It is a build-able foundation and you are able to get about a medium coverage out of it. I am pretty happy with the shade variety as well, although most do seem to be an the warmer side. Perfect for warmer skin tones, or if you would like to warm up your skin tone! But be sure to blend down your neck if this is something you plan on doing :) ... I wear "Warm me Up" Toasted Beige.

Kat Von D Lock-it Tattoo Foundation

For all you full coverage foundation lovers out there, this is your new best friend! This foundation is an extremely FULL in coverage. Now, those of you who know me know I am not usually one for a fuller coverage, so considering my standing on full coverage my opinion on this foundation might come to a surprise for you. Personally I don't see myself using this foundation too much, possible uses for me would be in the winter and only in the center of my face blending out with a tinted moisturizer. BUT I will say I am loving how it is looking on anyone and everyone I have put it on. If you want an extremely flawless complexion with a doll like finish you will love this foundation! Want to skip the concealing step? You may be able to with this guy. Now, two things... if you plan on wearing this foundation PLEASE do the following on a regular basis...

That is all.

I wear a #56.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup (what-a name!)

First off, love the shade collection.  As a makeup artist, I am finding it extremely easy to find anyone's perfect shade, big points for that. They offer "half shades" which I love and gives the same convenience as shoe brands offering "half sizes" ... if you are in-between sizes you know what I am talking about! This is what I would call "easy wear" foundation. Buff this in with any buffing brush (if your oily - set it, if not - don't) and your good to go.  Gives a quick and easy even skin tone and disappears into the skin well. Nice lightweight texture, but I still find it covers what's needed. Speaking of buffing brushes, Urban Decay came out with one to compliment this foundation and I love it. If you plan on purchasing this foundation I definitely suggest grabbing the brush that compliments it (Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush). I wear a #5 in this foundation.

Stila Stay All Day Foundation and Concealer

A common trend right now for foundations is "lightweight breathable coverage." Brands are pulling away from thick heavy foundations and doing a lot of tinted moisturizer-ish foundations (that's what I like to come them). Not saying that full coverage still isn't out there and popular (hence the new Kat Von D), but this lightweight stuff is in demand for sure. I would definitely categorize this foundation in that lightweight group as well, still giving coverage, but it more or less evens out the skin, blurring imperfections rather then covering them completely. For that "natural" perfect skin look. I LOVE the concealer that comes with it (built into the top of the foundation cap... convenience!). It is extremely creamy and soft and not cakey or drying. I wear Medium or Dark.

Hope you guys enjoyed that and please comment if you have used any of these and tell me about your experience! oXo

What is my pamper routine you ask? Here goes...

I've got a couple questions on what my favourite pamper session includes.  Well here it is ladies and gents, be prepared for the softest, yummiest smelling, silky smooth body from head to toe! I don't do this routine often as it is more time consuming and would be too much to do on a daily basis.  I probably do it about once a week. By all means, substitute what ever products you have at home to replace the one's I have used - this post is mainly about the process rather then products! ... but we can't forget the oh-so-beautiful products!

First things first...

Step One: I take a hair oil (you can use any) the one I used tonight is the Spa Wisdom Polynesia Monoi Miracle Oil from the body shop  and massage it thoroughly onto my scalp.  This oil is amazing! Great for hair, body, bath or massage oil. This is a personal choice for me but I hate the feeling of a dry or itchy scalp and this really soothes and moisturizes (we moisturize every other part of our body might as well moisturize our scalp!). Once I have massaged that in I give my hair and scalp a good brush - which feels amazing! (you look like a homeless greaser at this point but it's all worth it in the end!)

Step Two: Shower. Since I have a thorough coating of oil on my scalp I always wash my hair twice. Then I put on a hair mask. Right now I am using the 3 Minute Shine Boost by Alterna from the Caviar line. It is an amazing mask that leaves your hair so SHINEY! While that is in I do the shower nessecities, shave body wash and cleanse my face with my Clarsonic and cleanser (using Korres Milk cleanser 3 in 1 cleanses, tones, and removes eye makeup).

Step Three: Exfoliate! Everywhere! Favourite thing of life. I start at the top and work my way down. (a) For my face right now I am using (and loving) Exfolikate by Kate Somerville  - massage your scrub onto your skin, gently for about 2 minutes then rinse.  With this particular scrub you leave it on for two minutes after scrubbing for added benefits but just read the directions on your product! (b) Next I exfoliate my body.  I turn the shower head away and remove most of the excess water on my skin.  Then I scrub away for about 10 minutes until I feel thoroughly sloughed! I am using the African Red Tea Scrub by Ole Henriksen. Then rinse. (c) I then scrub my my feet with a puma stone or my new found love the Diamancel Foot Buffer then I exfoliate my feet with the Cake Milk Maid Scrub Hands and Cuticle buffer (you can use it on your hands and feet). Be careful walking around after, you are basically walking on silk tootsies!

Step Four: Get out of the shower and pat dry. I then take the same oil I used in my hair earlier and mix it with my body butter-of-the-moment (right now I'm using Sensual Amber by Bath and Body Works). I mix it in my hands until it makes a paste. I would say 1 part oil 3 parts body butter.  I apply that all over my body.

Step Five: Do a mask that suits your skins needs. I love hydrating masks so I usually stick to those. Tonight I used the Black Tea Mask by Fresh - absolutely amazing! Leave that on for about 10 minutes then rinse off. Apply your regular skin care from there. For me that is a serum, face cream, eye cream and a lip treatment.

Step Six: Get dressed in your snuggliest pj's.

Step Seven: Load some vaseline onto your feet and slip on some socks.

Step Eight: Veg out and let the relaxation take over!

I know, I know, a bit excessive right? But trust me! Do it once and a while and you will feel amazing after! So worth every minute spent :) Happy Pampering! oXo

Black Cherry Mmm Yummy!

Latest body wash obsession... Black Cherry Italian Soda by Philosophy (Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath). I literally want to guzzle this down! Smells delicious - just like cherry soda! Fruity and feminine for summer, I love lathering up in this from head to toe! Makes for a very enjoyable and deliciously smelling shower experience! I've only sampled this product but totally grabbing one asap! For twenty-one dollars this multi purpose wash is an awesome shower accessory ;) oXo

These are a few of my favourite things...

I am going to start posting "These are a few of my favourite things" on a regular basis just like how I do the "Product 411" on the reg! It's a great way for me to share with you things I'm loving right in the moment! This post is all about some fav things that are really making me feel summery!

Viktor & Rolf - Flowerbomb

I am absolutely LOVING this fragrance! It is soo feminin and pretty, at the same time very sexy and sensual. Fragrance evokes emotion in people.  I love having fragrances that make me feel a certain way or allow me to reminisce on a favourite memory. Certain fragrances I have worn throughout my life make me remember specific things that were going on at the time.  I'm excited to start wearing this one and create new scent sensations and memories that I will remember for years to come whenever I smell this scent! A little bit about the fragrance itself...

Full-bodied and opulent, the Eau de Parfum explodes in a bouquet of sensations with its addictive floral notes which leave their trail, like a whirlwind that is distinctly couture. A millefleurs around the freesia, Centifolia rose, osmanthus and Sambac jasmine, supported by a background of patchouli.

Bath and Body Works: Summer Boardwalk Candle

Bought this candle yesterday and I can't stop burning it! It is supposed to be reminiscent of what a summer fair or carnival smells like... carmel corn, candy apples and salted sweet cream. It is heavenly

Laura Mercier Body Bronzing Makeup

Ok so this product not only makes you look deliciously tanned but also evens skin tone and any imperfections. It also smells scrumptious as it is infused with almond coconut milk! I absolutely love how this product makes my skin look. I really wanted to wear it for my wedding day but I was a bit concerned about it transferring onto my gown. It claims to be transfer resistant so I put it to the test! I wore it out clubbing one night, where I was sweating and dancing. I wore a white bra and lighter colour clothing - ZERO transfer! I think the key to this was applying it on perfectly clean dry skin and letting it dry completely before getting dressed. Looks amazing on legs and decollate! But honestly apply it head to do for smooth bronzed skin! I found it evened out my skin making it look perfectly smooth and cellulite free!

Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend! oXo

Here is a fun ultra girlie pink fade lip! Super easy, dark colours to light colours - try with any set of shades!

Glossy Box Review

Hey Guys!

Hope your all enjoying your saturday! I know I am :) Just wanted to share with you guys a review of my first Glossy Box! I was super excited to sign up and receive my first box after hearing so many cool things about this subscription. Here's what I got...

WELLA Professional Brilliance Conditioner and Mask (little red bottles)

Ok, I LOVED these products. First off they smell amazingggg! I was so pleased with the smell and longevity of the smell too.  The scent lasted until my next shampoo and left my pillow smelling delicious! Also made my hair so shiny and silky smooth.  Almost a little too silky smooth... so I had to add a bit of dry shampoo into my clean hair to give it some texture and workability which I usually do anyway (hate my hair too clean!).  I would suggest using this before you are styling a sleek high pony or smooth old hollywood curls. Two words... Diamond Dust. Umm SOLD! In these WELLA products they use triple-blend care technology and diamond dust! I don't know if it's just me but you put diamond dust in something and I'm totally down.

Elizabeth Grant Island Coconut Shower Gel

Another deliciously smelling product, not to much else to say about this product other then that.  It lathers nicely and leaves your skin smelling like a vaca!

Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara Black

I enjoyed this mascara! It was clump free and gave nice length and definition.  Also, easy to remove but non flaking.

Give your lashes extra length and curl with Xtension Plus Mascara. The formula and brush curl, define and separate lashes while minimizing clumps. An innovative and specifically designed soft polymer brush offers a side with a row of longer bristles which reach even the shortest lashes and stretch them from root to tip, achieving their maximum lengthening potential. The tapered brush tip is perfect for extreme definition.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15

This lightweight moisturizer is great for day time use as it has light reflecting illuminating qualities and an SPF 15. It also helps to even the skin tone over time so definitely would recommend using this if you have uneven skin tone or dark spots!

I am soooo excited for my next Glossy Box! Want to sign up for your own monthly subscription to this lovely box of goodies do so here!

Product 411 ('s)

Hey Guys!

Finallyyyy I know I know I've been super busy and do apologize! Which is why I'm not only reviewing one product for this Product 411 but FIVE products! I decided to review some products that I have had laying around for a bit and just recently started using and LOVING them...

Big Fatty Mascara by Urban Decay

Loving this mascara right now! It is very similar to the one I mentioned loving from Sephora collection.  It gives amazing volume and length and is great for building with it's ultra glossy formula.  It is super black and really nice to work with, I don't find there to be any flaking either which is key. All in all, great mascara!

Script Hourglass Liquid Liner

Like a super defined "perfect" looking liner with an extreme point? This is great for that! I don't use this to do my whole line but I use it to perfect my angle and tip and it's amazing for that!

GOSH Eyebrow Pen

You can buy it at shoppers or anywhere GOSH cosmetics are sold.  I usually use a wax/powder eyebrow system on a day to day basis but this is great on low maintenance days for a super quick application! It is also great for perfecting brows and giving them a really perfect shape.  It lasts long and doesn't smudge. It is a must try for sure!

Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush

This blush is amazing, I especially love it as a makeup artist.  It's great for every skin tone and gives everyone that just pinched cheek look. It's also really difficult to apply too much of this as it calms down and adjusts after a couple minutes.  So if you worry about blush application this is the blush for you! It also comes in a STUNNING case with the Dior logo imprint in the blush... can you say luxury?

Peter Thomas Roth Brows to Die for (Lashes to die for)

Ok so I didn't remember this until now but they stopped carry this I guess? But I have heard that Lashes to Die for is a very similar formula and would do the same thing.  I have only been using it for a little bit and I can't figure out if it is a placebo effect or what but I like it and am noticing a difference!

Scrubs and Things

Hey Dolls!

I ♡ exfoliating. Not only does it leave your skin feeling new and fresh it leaves your skin glowing and looking fabulous. I have a few scrubs on the go and some all time favourites that I will fill you in on!

Desserted Island Soothing Brown Sugar Body Scrub

I absolutely love this oily deliciously fabulous smelling scrub! It really gives a deep exfoliation with it's larger sugary bits - they get down and dirty and slough off all that unwanted dull dry skin.  It is oil based and leaves a lovely moisturizing layer on the skin *quick tip* pat dry after showering, don't rub dry - don't want to wipe off that yummy smelling, moisturizing oil! Cake scrubs come in a few different scents I love this one as well... Milk Made Soothing White Sugar Body Scrub. Desserted Island smells like Tahitian vanilla and coconut and the Milk Made is a softer scent made with whole milk, white sugar, cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil.  Some things I love about Cake Beauty is it is a Canadian born and raised company! Which is great, I love supporting Canada.  Also it is 98% percent natural! I have been a faithful client of Cake Beauty for years now and I love so many of their products. A couple other all time favourites of mine...

Satin Sugar Glistening Dry Shampoo & Body Powder

- smells amazingggg and leaves your hair feeling clean and with a beautiful glistening glow!

Milk Made Soothing Hand and Cuticle Buffer

- similar to the body scrubs this product leaves your hands and feet feeling like a baby's bottom! (I ALWAYS have this in my shower!)

Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Exotic Body Scrub

This is another scrub I am using right now and it is absolutely luxurious.  This scrub is for all skin types but is from the the Ole Henriksen anti-aging collection. I am a sucker for any and all things anti-aging! Being that this scrub helps to renew and hydrate the skin while doing so helps skin look and feel younger, short and long term!

Raw, organic Paraguayan sugar Gently exfoliates and moisturizes dry, lackluster skin
Grapefruit, orange and tangerine extracts Purifies and brightens the skin with natural astringent, antiseptic and aromatic qualities
Honey Inhibits the growth of bacteria and locks in moisture
Linseed oil (flaxseed oil) Moisturizes with gamma linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid

Some other fav products from Ole Henriksen...

Purifying Eye Makeup Remover (Pads)

- Love the ease of these eye makeup remover pads, just grab one and wipe off!

Truth Revealed Super Creme SPF 15

- Moisturizing, nourishment and protection all in one! Anddd smells like skittles!

*quick tip* I have been dry scrubing lately and it really goes the extra mile! (I don't suggest this if you tend to have more sensetive skin)

- use a spritz bottle, fill it with water and lightly spray your entire body with it before you get in the shower

- grab some scrub and massage it into your skin (in the shower {without it turned on} so you don't make a mess on your floor)

I find this realllyyyy gives an amazing deep exfoliation - next level!

Happy Pampering! oXo

Product 411

Hello to all my beautiful alluring readers!

OK... its official. I'm going to go broke from buying nail polish! At work we just got a new Nail Studio and the colours/finishes/styles/combinations are ENDLESS! I'm going to be all about the nails for a bit so I just wanted to fill you in on my latest purchase that I LOVE!

My new favourite top coat: Nails Inc. Kensington Caviar 45 Second Top Coat

Reasons why I love it...

- not to thick not to thin

- supa dupa shiny and glossy

- sooooo quick drying!

I do love a super thick juicy top coat but the problem with those is you get half way down the bottle and its too thick to get anymore out (Kaitlyn!)

My next purchase was a nail colour from Nails Inc: Wellington Square

I love this colour it is going to be my easter mani/pedi colour that I plan on doing Friday :) It's a deliciously creamy pale orange...

I love nails inc. not only for their amazing choices in colour but always for the adorableness that is there polish names, for example... Kensington Park Road, London Town, Notting Hill Gate etc etc!

Give your self a festive Easter mani/pedi too - and maybe try out a nails inc. shade ;) Let me know which one you tried and how you liked it! Happy Easter Dolls! oXo

Bring Spring Home!

Hey Guys!

Fresh flowers in a beautiful vase is always a great way to spruce up your home in any season.  But the upkeep can get expensive and replacing them on a regular basis can be hard with a busy life.  I have been loving the pastel colours of the season so I wanted to incorporate them into my home in some way without throwing off the current colour schemes (nudes, beiges, golds, burnt yellows, dusty rose). I went on a Chapters run this afternoon looking for some candles on the discount rack (gotta love the home sale rack at Chapters!) I came across this great bon bon jar... It was $19.50 with %50 off!

Then I went to Bulk Barn to find something to fill it with.  I was drawn to Mini Eggs but I knew those would be gone in a day (especially with a boy in the house!). So I wanted to find something more long lasting... like mints! A perfect spring colour - blue pastel :) They were $3.50 for this amount.

Ta Dah!!!

Next on my list is to find two other jars with different shapes and finishes.  For example, frosted or crackle finishes in a tall slender jar or a tear drop shape. I plan on filling them with Lemon Drops and Lavender Candy Hearts. So you get the idea! Get creative with it and create your own little spring candy bar!

Fashion for Fitness

Hey All!

So I hope everyone enjoyed my youtube video! I will be posting another one later on this week so check back!

Recently I have been going to hot yoga on the regular and I always feel like such a bum. So... I have tried to brainstorm some ideas on how I can still look semi-cute without looking completely dead but also not looking done up (not really a fan of dressing to the nines to go work out).

So these are some tips and tricks to feel a little more spruced up before heading out to work on your fitness!

1.  I like to work out in a t-shirt.  That's just how I have always worked out (probably the baller in me - during basketball practices and workouts I always wore a t-shirt).  I'm not one for wearing cute workout tops - I've tried but I'm just way more comfy in a T.  I have taken a bunch of old t-shirts and trimmed the arms off a bit to be more like a capped sleeve and cut a deep V neckline so you can see a bit of a cute sports bra peeking out!

Some trimming ideas...

If you have a super big one, make it a angled top and cut the front shorter and let the back hang down over your bum in a round shape, sort of like this...

Or... Fringe it up!

2. I like my hair to be wayyy out of my face, lots of options here. Cute braids, headbands, bandanas and messy buns. Check out some of these looks...

3. Glowing, clean, fresh skin! About a half-hour before I go to work out I like to clean my skin really well.  I usually wash my face and then exfoliate to slough off dull skin.  I also apply a nice luminating moisturizer, a brightening eye cream and a little lip balm (a great skin routine to do on a daily basis either way).

These are some of the products I like...

Laura Mercier: Flawless Skin Face Polish

"This effective scrub cleanses and exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to leave skin smooth and even-toned. Suitable for all skin types, Face Polish helps remove dead skin cells with purifying microbeads, while emollients soften the skin."

Body Shop: Vidamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream

"A daily moisturizing cream with light diffusing particles that helps to protect the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth with a luminous, healthy-looking glow."

Caudalie: Premier Cru

"This highly active formula targets all signs of aging around the eyes: wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dehydration, dark circles, dark spots, puffiness, malnourishment, and loss of radiance."

Jack Black: Lip Balm

"Field tested in extreme conditions, this hydrating balm contains antioxidants and superior moisturizers to provide lasting treatment benefits. It provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection."

4. A little touch of waterproof mascara and your good to go! I don't suggest using waterproof mascara on a daily basis but once in a while never hurt anybody! Using it on a daily basis can cause lashes to become brittle and break over time.

Here are some great waterproof mascaras...

Dior: Diorshow Waterproof Mascara

Tarte: Lights, Camera, Splashes

"Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes! 4-In-1 Waterproof Mascara's waterproof formula gives you the bombshell lashes you love, and is guaranteed to stay put through rain, sweat or tears."

Layering Trend

I am totally in love with this accessory trend! I'm always trying to think of a different way to switch it up and I have become a bit obsessed with buying new bracelets.  If you haven't figured it out yet I'm talking about layering bracelets with a watch or on their own combining different styles and colours. Having a great watch to complete this trend is key, but don't want to drop big $$$ on a MK watch? Accessory stores have come out with great affordable options.  It's nice to have one expensive staple watch but then maybe purchase a few less expensive ones to create a different look. Here are some great affordable options to re-create this trend in as many different ways as possible for less...

Some watches I ♥ for less...

This Aldo watch comes with four different bands (which is a great option and really helps with creating a different look everyday!) only around $30!

Looking to spend a little bit more? Fossil watches are amazing! They are very well made and long lasting - paying a little more might be worth it! This one is a BEAUTY and its only $95... Check out more of the beautiful collection here!

I came across a web site called The Watchery - they sell discounted luxury watches! I haven't ordered from them before so I can't vouch for their reliability but I read some reviews and it sounds good. They also ship almost everywhere and you can find pretty much every brand including Bulgari, Cartier, Fossil and MK. A price point for any budget! (I'm totally considering purchasing my next watch from them-let you know how that goes)

As for some options to layer with here are some braclets I love...

$12 (ish) from Aldo

$14 (ish) from Aldo

$10 (ish) from Claire's. Went in there the other day and they have stepped up their game! They still have their kiddy stuff but they also have some super cute accessories. It's nice because unlike buying things from Aldo, you may find pieces that 3 of your girlfriends don't already have.

Happy layering! oXo

Spring Makeup

Here are some great Spring 2012 makeup trends to get you in a springy mood!

Wet/Shimmering Smokey Eyes

A sexy smouldering smokey eye is always hot, but this spring it is going to be huge. It's all about a dark and somewhat messy smokey look. Some tips on creating a smoke show eye...

1. Even though the over all look will be mainly black, I still like to use at least 3 colours (black, blending colour and brow highlight)

2. Use an amazing primer because creasing is the WORST especially with a black smokey eye, try Shadow Insurance by Too Faced.  In my opinion... BEST eye primer eva!

3. If you really want to get runway about it, after your done your smokey eye apply a little bit of vaseline on the center of the eye lid (gives a super sexy wet look)

Dewy Perfected Skin

Forget your mattifying powder, it's all about the dew! Gorgeously highlighted skin with a supple plush look is what it's all about for spring 2012. Tips for achieve the look...

1. Use a illuminating primer that gives your skin an all over glow, try Smooth Operator by Tarte! It is amazingly smooth and has other wonderful skin benefits built right in!

2. Focus your dewy glow on the high points of your face with this amazinggg highlighter - Watts Up by Benefit. Apply with a brush, fingers or the sponge applicator it comes with along the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, under the brows, and where ever else you want to look lit from within! You can also apply it all over your face under your foundation as a primer then again on the high points for an ULTRA glow.

Nail Adornment

It's ALL about the nails. Get creative with your digits and try some of the amazing new nail products on the market! Stickers, Magnetic Polish, Glitter and Shimmer top coats and tonsss of amazing colours and hues! Don't love craziness going on on every nail? Just add a little glitz or a detailed sticker to the ring finger (or whatever finger you want!) Nails have become a huge expression of style - so express away! Also, check out some of my other posts on nails, just type nails into the search engine! Check out some of my fav nail looks...

Influential Brows

A strong bold brow statement must be made this spring! Brows shape the face and are super crucial to your over all look.  Check out some other posts I have done on brows by typing that into the search engine! Don't be afraid to be a little heavy handed when shading in your brows this spring.

Assertive Lips

Expressive bold lips are a great accessory and an amazing pick-me-up. Statement lips are a great way to look done up without spending too much time, low maintenance eye, bold lip and your on your way! Rock some Tangerine Tango, Cherry Red, or Petal Pink - whatever your heart desires...

A Taste of Spring!

How time flies! Spring is right around the corner which means it's soon time to switch out your winter hand bag and pack away the parka! There are tons of new trends for this season, I'm going to fill you in on some of my fav's!

It's all about birds! Bird prints, bird accessories, birds birds birds! They are popular in a small print or large print - so many ways you can rock this trend. Manish Arora, an Indian fashion designer who last year was appointed creative director of the womenswear collection of the French fashion house Paco Rabanne, envisions the bird trend a little different then you or I...

Let us be inspired by his vision and work it into our everyday wardrobes with more wearable toned down options such as these...

Another great trend for spring (one of my favourites which I will definitely be investing in) is the "Peplum" style dress or skirt. Super flattering on pretty much every body type.

**Penny Saver Tip** Want to create the look without purchasing a new piece? Take a top that is a bit longer and has more fabric through the body and pair it with a pencil skirt the compliments the top or is close in colour.  Then belt the top! There you have it, your very own Peplum dress creation! It will look something like this...

It's ALL about pastels! Which I couldn't be happier about - I ℒℴѵℯ pastels! Pairing pastels together is so much fun and so extremely feminine. I've also noticed it's all about the fabric those pastels are on, which tend to be super delicate fabrics like chiffon, lace, silk etc.

The silloutte that seems to be popping up everywhere is a drop waist or no waist at all... take a look!

**Penny Saver Tip** Want to create your own drop waist? Easy! So many options but one I came up with is... Pair a longer pleated chiffon skirt with a long graphic T, something like this... Also layer in a light weight long tank to add to the drop waist effect - try something in a pastel ;)

More spring trend posts to come but some things to keep your eyes peeled for in the mean time are...

- digital imaging prints

- colour blocking

- matte satin

- pleating

- sea and garden themes

so MUCH more to come!
