My Fall Wish List

Hey Guys!

I can't believe it's already the end of August! Summer flew by but in a good way, I had an amazing summer filled with weddings galor, tons of beach days, and great times with friends and family. This is my first week back after my 10 days off and it feels good to be back in the swing of things! If I had it my way, it would be fall half the year, summer the other half and winter just for the month of December. I'm a fall junkie. My husband and I actually got married Thanksgiving weekend because we both love the season that much.

Today I thought I'd share with you my wish list for this fall. Things I want, things I need... mainly things I want. Some are fall related some are just things I've had my eye on. First up, what's fall without a vampy lip? NARS came out with a line called Audacious which I'm dying to try. I have my eye on one particular colour though... Ingrid (que blissful sighing, ahhh).

It's a super dark violet colour with a deep red wine feel. STUNning. Can't wait to get my little paws on it.

Next up, this isn't just one particular item. On my fall wish list is a shopping spree at ASOS curve. For those asking where I like to shop, this is one of my favourite online stores. I love the styles and the sizes are usually right on. I love getting my clothes tailored to fit me perfectly. Everyone's body is so different and properly fitting clothing is so flattering and very important. I get a lot of my jeans darted and some of my blouses taken in at the waist as I need more space through the chest and shoulders. If you order something lean on the larger size and then have it tailored to fit you perfectly! It's worth the extra coin ;) Here are some looks I'm planning to recreate and purchase pieces from...

Next up jewelry, for those that know me (or have been to home studio) know my love affair with jewelry. This fall I would like to add some more pieces to my collection. Pieces that are more dainty and feminin. Also, rings. I want to wear a ring on every finger. Here are some from Asos I like...

An oldie but a goodie, Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask. I just ran out of mine that I have been savouring and using very sparingly because it is a bit of an investment. At around $100 for the jar, it's worth every penny. I love this mask, if feels like butter and leaves your skin feeling taught and plush. I feel it's soul purpose for me is hydrating and firming although it offers much more to the skin when used regularly. I will have to pop into my local Sephora at White Oaks mall soon and bite the bullet...

I've recently been watching the MM&L Show on youtube (literally obsessed and can't stop). Two best friends share tips and tricks on beauty, fashion, lifestyle, review products and are just hilarious. They have talked about this product in a few of their videos and now I'm just dying to try it. I think the best way to get it is off of amazon.ca but I'm going to look further into that. This product is by Jonathan and it's called Dirt. It's a texturizing paste that allows you to separate and create a piecey look, and let's you achieve that day-old-hair look that we all love so much.

There you have it, my fall wish list! Please share with me some of your must have fall favourites below in the comments section. As always feel free to contact me with any questions or to book me for your next event!

Have a fabulous day! oXo

Summer Must Have's of 2014

Hey Guys!

I recently picked up some summer essentials and thought I'd share them with you. If you follow me on instagram, you have probably seen a couple but I had so many questions as to what I was wearing in my recent photos, so, I thought I would fill you in on all of them! For me, summer is about ease, comfort and beauty! I want to look summer fresh but still naturally glam (a girls gotta stay up on her glam!). Check out some of my must haves below. I will be going through each individual product with you!

Beachy Dream Waves...

Nothing worse on a hot humid day than having to blow dry your hair for a half hour and getting all sweaty! I plan on taking the easy route a lot this summer by letting my hair air dry using these Marc Anthony products! First off, I comb all the tangles out of my hair so it's smooth, then I run an oil through it to smooth and help with frizziness. Next up I apply Strictly Curls Styling Foam in my hand and tousle it throughout my hair, scrunching as I go. Then I shake it out and turn my hair upside down a few times (still scrunching). Next up, I mist on some of the Beach Spray (can be used on straight or curly hair!), scrunch a few more times and call it a day. What's awesome is you can use the Beach Spray to touch up throughout the day as well as the next day to maintain the style. Also, these products smell amazing. That is hugely important to me when it comes to hair products. The beach spray smells like coconuts :) I bought these products at my local Shoppers Drug Mart - it was about $23 bucks for both.

Peachy Keen...

This product is a bit of a splurge but OMG, it's my new obsession. I may have to buy a couple other shades... uh-oh! The product is by Dior and it's their Addict Fluid Stick. I purchased mine here in London at Sephora White Oaks for $36.00. This amazing lip product doubles as a lipstick and a gloss. Takes away the two step application process and leaves you with a beautiful pigment as well as a deliciously glossy finish. It feels so silky smooth on the lips, I love it! I picked up #239 Frisson, a nude peach hue (it looks way brighter in the picture for some reason). All in all I am such a fan and will be rocking this all summer long!

Tropical Pink...

Another lip product I know, but I am going to be all about lips this summer. Keeping my eyes fresh and natural and focusing on lashes and lips! This product is unreal. SUPER pigmented, a little goes a very long way. It has a matte finish with a slight luster/moisture so it doesn't dry up and crack like a lot of mattes. It's creamy and long wearing - perfect combo. This colour looks quite a bit different on, I would say on me, it looks like a bright pink/peach pastel-ish hue. Picked this guy up at Sephora White Oaks for $20. My sister grabbed a darker hue called Mulberry which I may have to get next - a deep raspberry hue. Check out the rest of the shades here!

Dewy and golden...

This has been a staple product of mine for a while now, those who know me know I'm a sucker for a golden glow. This summer I will be religiously mixing this product with my foundation. It gives that perfect all over glow with a beautiful golden undertone. Sun Beam by Benefit can be found at Sephora as well for around $32!

Hydratation...

I am an oil addict. Constantly running oils through my hair as I tend not to wash it for a few days and like it to stay smooth (ish) looking. I also use oils to hydrate my face and body. This little mini on the go oil is perfect for summer to through in a beach bag and drench yourself from head to toe after a long day in the sun! The Divine Oil by Caudalie is all purpose - body, face and hair! This little guy was $10 but you could grab the full size for $52.

Sweet Jasmine, Orange blossom and more...

Summer scents can evoke so many memories, beach days, cottage nights or dewy sunny mornings. Bath and Body Works says this candle is...

Fragrant, sweet jasmine, orange blossom and the fresh scent of fluffy white towels evoke the endless-summer feel.

Sign me up! Also, love the mason jar packing and mint green hue :)

Flower Crowns (need I say more?)...

I'm a bit of a flower crown junkie. If I could wear one everyday, I would. Our wedding was almost two years ago and my husbands' Aunt constructed me one of the most beautiful crowns ever! Check it out (hehe great excuse to show a wedding photo)...

The crowns from the first photo I picked up at Claire's for about 12 bucks each. Flower crowns are such a great accessory for summer! I think they show off your hair and frame the face really nicely!

Below I am wearing one of my flower crowns, styled my hair using the products listed above, Sunbeam is mixed into my foundation, and I am wearing the Sephora Luster Matte lip in Pink Flush Luster...

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and as always, feel free to contact me with any questions or to book me for your next event!

Dry Shampoo Love

Hey Guys!

Sad to say but blogs are going to be a little less frequent now that summer is upon us and I will be diving full speed into weddings! I will still do my best to get out as many as I can for you. As always, feel free to request topics here

Today, I want to share with you my new favourite dry shampoo. I use and love many but I'm always willing to try new things. Who knows, you may be missing out on your favourite product because you have been using the same stuff for years. Don't be afraid to switch it up!

Product: Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-powder

What Bumble has to say...

It's equal parts dry shampoo, style extender and volume in a pinch.

I seriously love Bumble and Bumble, I find their product do what they say they are going to do. I also find a little goes a very long way with most of their products, this one in particular. The powder is a very very finally milled powder that is almost a similar consistency to the Make Up For Ever HD Powder, if any of you are familiar with that. It's silky yet powdery enough to absorb oils and build volume.

I love applying it on freshly washed and blow dried hair, doing this not only adds volume but also extends the life of my shampoo, keeping my hair looking cleaner for longer. As most of you know I am a huge proponent of washing my hair as little as possible. I find it styles better a few days in and the look becomes more lived in and tousled. This product is amazing for all of those purposes! Also, it smells amazing: sweet and citrusy (in my opinion).

I gotta say, I also love the packaging. That opalescent finish? I'm digging it.

All in all, two thumbs up Bumble, keep it coming!

As always, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, to book me for your next event or to inquire about my freelance blogger services :)

Have a fabulous day oXo

Valentine's Day/Date Night Look

Hey Guys!

So Valentines day is right around the corner, some love it some hate it! I say no matter if your single or taken you can enjoy this love filled day! Look nice for yourself, family or friends. If you do have that special someone you want to impress, I have some little tips I like to live by when it comes to this day or any other romantic event.

First off, a good rule of thumb is you don't want to stray too far from what you normally do. You still want to look and feel like yourself just turn it up a notch ;) You also want to give off a touchable and approachable vibe so I tend to avoid super harsh looks like a red/bold lip or perfectly styled hair. You don't want your special someone to feel like they will mess you up if they decide to sweep you off your feet.

This is the look I went for...

Hair

Instead of going for those perfectly set curls I decided to go for something a little more tousled looking. I used my Bombshell 1.5 inch Waver. This tool is just like a curling rod with no clamp but instead of being round it is flat and the waves come out in a zig zag form. It looks like this...

After I curled my whole head in about 1 inch sections I let the curls cool. Next up I ran my fingers through them loosening them up - while doing this I also sprayed in Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, scrunching and tossing my hair back and forth. Once I was achieved those perfectly tousled locks, I set the look with a finishing spray.

Makeup

I love a softly blurred smokey eye with a bold liquid liner, lashes and a clean under eye - that tends to be my go to look. I stuck with what works for me and created this eye look. I decided to use a white eyeliner along my water line to brighten up the look and give it a sense of innocence. I used purples pinks and creams, sticking with soft feminine colours. Here are the colours I used (all MAC shadows)...

The look...

1. Start with a clean primed eye lid.  Then apply Yogurt by MAC all over the lid with a flat dense brush.

2. Next up pick up Folie on a blending brush and buff it into the outer corner of the eye and along the crease. Then add a touch of Sketch and Blackberry softening and blending towards the center of the lid.

3. Apply a brow highlight, I used Yogurt again for this.

4. Take a small dense brush and apply Carbon to the very outer corner/crease. After you've applied the product, blend it out with the fluffy blending brush you used earlier.

5. Apply liquid liner

6. Apply false lashes.

7. Apply a white eye liner onto your lower water line, be sure to avoid the lashes as we are going for a clean look - smudging onto the lashes can look messy.

8. Apply In The Nude lip liner by Essence all over the lip, creating a neutral base.  Then apply Spice lip liner by MAC slightly over lining for fuller lips.

9. Apply Chatter Box by MAC all over the lip!

 Here are the lip products:

There you have it, a pretty&romantic, touchable&feminine v-day look! Hope you enjoyed this post, as always feel free to contact me with any questions or to book your next event!

Soft "S" Waves

Hey Guys!

As promised, todays second post! I have been getting quite a few requests on how I do my waves or how to do old hollywood inspired "S" waves. I have a pretty easy technique to follow, check it out and follow along...

1. First, part your hair down the back of your head so half of your hair is on each side of your shoulders. Then take a 1 inch section, spray with hair spray and wrap around the wand wrapping away from your face. So over and around the wand. Continue to do that on each side Ex. the right side all the curls will be wrapped around and back to the right, left side around and back to the left.

2. You curls will be hard, tight and not cute. Let them cool down like this. Do your makeup, pick out your outfit, paint your nails - whatever. Just let the curls cool completely before moving on. The reason for this is you want to create a curl memory with the hair spray and hot tool you just used. Letting the curls sit in such a tight hard state will make sure you don't loose your curls during the next step.

3. Take a bore/bristle brush and slowly and deeply brush out the curls. You don't want to brush fast and lightly because that will just make the curls frizz up. You want to press the brush firmly into the curls as you slowly brush through them.

4. Then, to accentuate the S wave. Pinch your hair where the wave is already there, as I've done in the above picture.

5. Clamp your straightener down so that there looks to be a round bulb of hair peaking through. I gently tighten and let go of the straightener as not to make a line in the hair but to get a hot press.

Finish with running a bit of dry oil to smooth any frizz and set with hair spray! I find these curls look better on day 2! Hope that helped you guys out :)

Vacation Must-Haves

Hey Guys!

We just got back from Cuba yesterday and had a fabulous time! Sometimes packing can be a little stressful for people "What will I need?" "Will I like this on once I get there?" "Have I packed enough?" the list of questions goes on and on. These are three things I ask myself while packing clothes...

1. Have I worn this in the last two months?

Because if you haven't, it's likely that you wont wear it on vacation.

2. Is it comfortable?

To me, comfort is extremely important. Especially on vacation, the worst is bringing a bunch of items that you actually find more trouble then they're worth. Usually comfort has a lot to do with fit. If something fits  well its usually very comfortable if it's too big here or too small there you may fidget with it, which is never comfortable.

3. How many ways can I wear this?

It's important to pack items that can be worn all together. I like to pack things that I know I can wear a couple times in different ways. Creating a new look each time.

Now for some of my must-have travel items...

Tide Travel Sink Packets

As I mentioned earlier, I like to make sure I'm able to wear one item with a few different outfits. Now you may not have to wash the item after wearing it depending, but just incase of a spill or excessive sweating its nice to have to option to do a quick hand wash if need be. I swear by these little guys, you just fill up the sink or bath with warm water and do a quick hand wash of a couple items, rinse and hang to dry.

Tide to-go Stick

Tide to-go sticks are a life saver! I always have one in my purse even when I'm not traveling. But they are especially essential when traveling. During a long day of eating meals on the go a little stain or spill is somewhat bound to happen. I absolutely hate walking around with a stain on my clothes so it's great having one of these on hand for a quick fix!

Beautifying Oil

I'm a moisturizing freak. Especially when I'm vacationing some where sunny. After a long day in the sun all I want to do is shower and drench myself in oil or moisture from head to toe. This Beautifying Oil from the Body Shop is SO convient and amazing. It can be used on your hair, body and face eliminating the need to pack three separate items! It comes in many different classic Body Shop scents. With a very affordable price point of $14 CAN for one bottle!

Jewellery Bag

I love to accessorize so cutting back on the jewellery I pack isn't really an option. But what is an option is packing it in a way that saves a ton of space and is super convient to sift through once you unpack. I have an amazing one from Stella and Dot that I received as a hostess gift for having a party. They sell a ton of great options, I love the Multicoloured Striped Jewellery Roll...

Manicure Set

If you are like me, before I go away I usually get a manicure and pedicure to ensure long lasting groomed nails. But the worst thing is getting a hang nail, breaking a nail, chipping a nail and having nothing to fix it with! So I always bring a little travel manicure set as well as a back of polish (either the colour that your nails are painted or one close to it, to fill chips or repaint if needed). Ton's of options for sets, check out some Sephora offers here.

Now, when it comes to makeup - some may be shocked by this - but I pack extremely light and only bring a few key items. This list only pertains to tropical trips/some where warm and relaxing. Where I know wearing a lot of makeup is just not what I want to do. Now if this was a trip to NYC or Boston, completely different story! I'd probably pack my whole kit ;)

These are the items I pack, click on each to see some of my favourites!

Tinted Moisturizer

Bronzer

Bronzy brown cream eye shadow (or a colour that suits you well)

Blush

Blush/Bronzer Brush

Eye brow powder/brush to apply it

Cream Highlighter

Mascara/Liquid Liner

...That's it!

Hope this helped you guys out and maybe gave you some ideas on what to pack for your next vacay! Happy long weekend my lovlies :) Thanks for reading!

This giveaway will be running from today, Wednesday March 27th, 2013 to Saturday April 27th, 2013!

Let's take a closer look...

1. Sheer light-weight beige scarf with coral accents, a value of $16.99 from Target. I love a sheer scarf for spring, perfect way to accessorize an outfit without being to warm. This scarf is large enough that it could also double as a beach wrap in the summer!

2. Sephora False Lashes in Celebrity with a value of $12.00. These are my favourite lashes from the Sephora collection. They give a nice amount of volume and length for everyday wear or a night out! I've worn them in a few of the looks I've posted previously :)

3. Cake Milk Made Velveteen Hand Cream with a value of $18.00. With the changing of seasons our skin tends to get very dry. With this luscious, vitamin rich formula... dry hands be gone! Another great quality about this hand cream is it's lightweight, non-greasy, fast absorbing finish. Great for someone busy and on the go!

4. My ALL-TIME FAVOURITE LIQUID LINER! This is the liner I've been using for ages, it's from Maybelline called Line Stiletto. It's what I use on all my looks I've posted. I get it in blackest-black and depending on when you buy it (shoppers always has different sales going on) it's value is about $10.99

5. Blinc mascara can be found at Sephora, this particular one is the beauty-to-go size (4g). Which is exactly half the amount of the full size. This is valued at about $15.00. "Blinc mascara forms tiny water-resistant "tubes" around lashes that cannot run smudge, clump or flake and slide off with a combination of water and gentle pressure" - a unique twist on mascara!

6. Essie Nail Lacquer in "bond with whomever" - a pastel purple lilacy shade which makes for a beautiful spring nail colour! I purchased this product for $8.99 at Target but you can also find Essie at Shoppers Drug Mart, Trade Secrets etc.

7. Three mini Bath and Body Works candles in fresh spring scents, Pineapple Orchid, Cherry Blossom and Garden Freesia. I am in love with candles and especially these three scents for spring! Value of $10.00

Still more...

8. Pinks are so in for this spring especially when it comes to make-up! Create a springy pink fresh eye look with this amazing palette from Lancome! It's their Color Design Palette in Rose Coquette 203 valued at $54.00

9. A 5ml sample size bottle of Couture La La from Juicy Couture valued at $15.99. This is such a pretty scent for spring...

Couture La La blends bright sparkling mandarin with bold white florals for a fragrance experience that captures the essence of femininity and daring allure of the unexpected.

10. TRESemme Volumizing Dry Shampoo. I am a dry shampoo freak, can't get enough! I'm always trying different kinds and seeing what else is out there. This is a travel size of 56g valued at around $3.99. Also great for a rainy spring day when your hair is feeling lifeless, give it some volume with this product!

Lastly, I'm also including a personalized iPhone case! The winner of the giveaway can let me know whether they would prefer a 4/4S case or a 5 :) Value of $20.00. If you love this case and want one for yourself let me know, I'm selling them for $20.00 :)

Bringing the total value of this giveaway to $185.95!!! Good luck to everyone, I wish you all could win!

Our Wedding!

Hey Guys!

So happy to be home and back doing what I love. Thank you to everyone for being patient with your requests and bookings. As promised, I am doing a little blog post on my Wedding! There were some amazing, talented professionals involved in the day and I would like to share them with you guys! I don't have all my pictures yet, just a preview of a couple that I will share. I'm sharing with you the main points of the wedding and if you are planning a wedding how far ahead you should book things. I feel like my timing was perfect with what I had booked, I was able to get everything into place on time and there was really no last minute scrambling. If you have any further questions about all things wedding feel free to post in the comments or message me and I will go into more detail for you!

Location (booked about 2 years before hand) - Sunningdale Golf and Country Club

I was absolutely thrilled with the service.  I had someone help me plan everything from start to finish, food, drinks, timing of the evening etc etc. She was an amazing help and went above and beyond constantly. The night went so smoothly, the food was all served together and was piping hot and delicious. Since our wedding was Thanksgiving weekend we served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with a Pie Bar for dessert! I highly recommend booking your wedding with Sunningdale, they are awesome! When I have my pictures I will post a selection so you guys can see what the room and decore looked like.

Photographer (booked about 1.5 years before hand) - Jess Shields Photography

She was AMAZING! I felt like I had a girlfriend there with me taking pictures and having fun along the way. She was very professional, was so keen on all my ideas and helping me make my vision come to life. She is extremely talented and creative and her prices are perfectly reasonable. Going to continue to use Jess for all important events coming up in our lives, maternity photos, family photos etc etc. Thanks again Jess! Here are some pictures...

Photobooth (booked 1.5 years before hand) - MUGZ Photobooth

This was the attraction of the night! Everyone had so much fun running in and out of this booth, taking fun and crazy pictures! This would count as a favour for your guests as well. As each guest goes home with every picture they were in in the booth! Here are some pictures from the night and what the print out that your guests will receive looks like...

Dress (purchased about 1 year and 4 months before)  - Kleinfelds

I LOVE my dress! Absolutely perfect. My experience at Kleinfelds was so memorable and if you can do it I highly recommend making the trip to NYC. Every dress you can imagine and a very wide range of price points and sizes.

Hair and Makeup (suggest you book hair/makeup at least 4-5 months ahead)

As you all can assume I did my own makeup and hair for my wedding (so if you liked it, contact me for your wedding!). Since I am lucky enough to know so many talented artists I was able to hire a couple good friends and colleagues. Britt Havens did the hair styling for my bridesmaids, she is an amazingly talented young woman and I highly recommend her for your next event! I had Jackie Boldock do the girls and my mothers makeup, everyone was thrilled! Jackie is an UNREAL artist, with loads of experience!

Cupcakes and Cake (suggest about 8 months before hand) - Boombox Bake Shop

They were absolutely delicious! Homemade, and you could taste the love every bite! Highly recommend booking with Boombox

The Flowers (booked about 1.5 years before hand) - Springhill Flowers

Mary at Springhill is absolutely AMAZING! She completely understood exactly what I wanted.  She made my vision come to life through her amazingly talented and creative work with flowers. I was blown away when she arrived the morning of the wedding with the bouquets, they were exactly what I had envisioned and I couldn't have done it better myself! I HIGHLY recommend booking with Springhill, you will be completely taken care of and given exactly what you want for the price you want. Thanks again Mary and Springhill! Here is my bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets...

My Headpiece (hand made by Monica Viani) - monica.viani@sympatico.ca/info@monicaviani.com

Monica is my husband's Aunt and she is unbelievably talented! She has a huge background in hat making for theaters and is extremely experienced! We were able to work together to create exactly what I wanted. She has an eye for beauty and made a stunning headpiece for me that is of amazing quality. Highly recommend her for creating your wedding accessories! (you can check out the headpiece in all the pictures posted above!)

My Shoes - TOMS wedding collection

This was the best decision ever! My feet were in absolute heaven all day! Since my dress was so big no one really saw my feet but when they did I had these adorable pink satin TOMS peeking out. SOOOOO comfortable I was able to dance the night away! At the end of the night the one thing that didn't feel completely and utterly exhausted were my feet, yay! My Husband also wore TOMS, his were black perforated leather and he was just as comfortable, actually in his words he siad he felt like a Ninja in them... ?? Guess thats good! We got some really cute pictures of the two pairs of TOMS together, can't wait to see the rest of my professional pictures! I will totally share more then I get them ;)

This was the best day of my life and it made me feel so loved and special.  I am so lucky to have the family and friends that I do and this day made me realize that even more! I married the man of my dreams and I am so excited to spend the rest of our lives together with our friends and family close by! Hope you all enjoyed this and if you are planning your wedding I wish you all the best! And if your just a wedding junkie I hope this scratched an itch! Talk soon, muah! oXo

Eat My Hair!

Hey Guys!

I am so excited to share this new product I love with you... hair perfume! With the huge trend of dry shampooing and trying not to over wash our hair to avoid drying it out, hair perfume is a perfect accessory! I came across this lovely product at Tantrum in London Ontario on Richmond Street downtown! Mane Teeze by T&M has three delicious scents to choose from, Social Butterfly (my fav!), Haut Mess and Black Widow. When I researched the product further I found out some really interesting things about the brand...

- It's CANADIAN yay!

- The founders and creators are two very talented young women one from right here in LONDON Ontario! The other from Orillia Ontario!

- They have landed franchises of the Blo Blow Dry Bar and are successfully spreading their business world wide!

Love supporting local talent and this is an amazing product! I LOVE the Social Butterfly scent but they are beautiful and plan on collecting all three!

What is my pamper routine you ask? Here goes...

I've got a couple questions on what my favourite pamper session includes.  Well here it is ladies and gents, be prepared for the softest, yummiest smelling, silky smooth body from head to toe! I don't do this routine often as it is more time consuming and would be too much to do on a daily basis.  I probably do it about once a week. By all means, substitute what ever products you have at home to replace the one's I have used - this post is mainly about the process rather then products! ... but we can't forget the oh-so-beautiful products!

First things first...

Step One: I take a hair oil (you can use any) the one I used tonight is the Spa Wisdom Polynesia Monoi Miracle Oil from the body shop  and massage it thoroughly onto my scalp.  This oil is amazing! Great for hair, body, bath or massage oil. This is a personal choice for me but I hate the feeling of a dry or itchy scalp and this really soothes and moisturizes (we moisturize every other part of our body might as well moisturize our scalp!). Once I have massaged that in I give my hair and scalp a good brush - which feels amazing! (you look like a homeless greaser at this point but it's all worth it in the end!)

Step Two: Shower. Since I have a thorough coating of oil on my scalp I always wash my hair twice. Then I put on a hair mask. Right now I am using the 3 Minute Shine Boost by Alterna from the Caviar line. It is an amazing mask that leaves your hair so SHINEY! While that is in I do the shower nessecities, shave body wash and cleanse my face with my Clarsonic and cleanser (using Korres Milk cleanser 3 in 1 cleanses, tones, and removes eye makeup).

Step Three: Exfoliate! Everywhere! Favourite thing of life. I start at the top and work my way down. (a) For my face right now I am using (and loving) Exfolikate by Kate Somerville  - massage your scrub onto your skin, gently for about 2 minutes then rinse.  With this particular scrub you leave it on for two minutes after scrubbing for added benefits but just read the directions on your product! (b) Next I exfoliate my body.  I turn the shower head away and remove most of the excess water on my skin.  Then I scrub away for about 10 minutes until I feel thoroughly sloughed! I am using the African Red Tea Scrub by Ole Henriksen. Then rinse. (c) I then scrub my my feet with a puma stone or my new found love the Diamancel Foot Buffer then I exfoliate my feet with the Cake Milk Maid Scrub Hands and Cuticle buffer (you can use it on your hands and feet). Be careful walking around after, you are basically walking on silk tootsies!

Step Four: Get out of the shower and pat dry. I then take the same oil I used in my hair earlier and mix it with my body butter-of-the-moment (right now I'm using Sensual Amber by Bath and Body Works). I mix it in my hands until it makes a paste. I would say 1 part oil 3 parts body butter.  I apply that all over my body.

Step Five: Do a mask that suits your skins needs. I love hydrating masks so I usually stick to those. Tonight I used the Black Tea Mask by Fresh - absolutely amazing! Leave that on for about 10 minutes then rinse off. Apply your regular skin care from there. For me that is a serum, face cream, eye cream and a lip treatment.

Step Six: Get dressed in your snuggliest pj's.

Step Seven: Load some vaseline onto your feet and slip on some socks.

Step Eight: Veg out and let the relaxation take over!

I know, I know, a bit excessive right? But trust me! Do it once and a while and you will feel amazing after! So worth every minute spent :) Happy Pampering! oXo

Glossy Box Review

Hey Guys!

Hope your all enjoying your saturday! I know I am :) Just wanted to share with you guys a review of my first Glossy Box! I was super excited to sign up and receive my first box after hearing so many cool things about this subscription. Here's what I got...

WELLA Professional Brilliance Conditioner and Mask (little red bottles)

Ok, I LOVED these products. First off they smell amazingggg! I was so pleased with the smell and longevity of the smell too.  The scent lasted until my next shampoo and left my pillow smelling delicious! Also made my hair so shiny and silky smooth.  Almost a little too silky smooth... so I had to add a bit of dry shampoo into my clean hair to give it some texture and workability which I usually do anyway (hate my hair too clean!).  I would suggest using this before you are styling a sleek high pony or smooth old hollywood curls. Two words... Diamond Dust. Umm SOLD! In these WELLA products they use triple-blend care technology and diamond dust! I don't know if it's just me but you put diamond dust in something and I'm totally down.

Elizabeth Grant Island Coconut Shower Gel

Another deliciously smelling product, not to much else to say about this product other then that.  It lathers nicely and leaves your skin smelling like a vaca!

Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara Black

I enjoyed this mascara! It was clump free and gave nice length and definition.  Also, easy to remove but non flaking.

Give your lashes extra length and curl with Xtension Plus Mascara. The formula and brush curl, define and separate lashes while minimizing clumps. An innovative and specifically designed soft polymer brush offers a side with a row of longer bristles which reach even the shortest lashes and stretch them from root to tip, achieving their maximum lengthening potential. The tapered brush tip is perfect for extreme definition.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15

This lightweight moisturizer is great for day time use as it has light reflecting illuminating qualities and an SPF 15. It also helps to even the skin tone over time so definitely would recommend using this if you have uneven skin tone or dark spots!

I am soooo excited for my next Glossy Box! Want to sign up for your own monthly subscription to this lovely box of goodies do so here!

Fashion for Fitness

Hey All!

So I hope everyone enjoyed my youtube video! I will be posting another one later on this week so check back!

Recently I have been going to hot yoga on the regular and I always feel like such a bum. So... I have tried to brainstorm some ideas on how I can still look semi-cute without looking completely dead but also not looking done up (not really a fan of dressing to the nines to go work out).

So these are some tips and tricks to feel a little more spruced up before heading out to work on your fitness!

1.  I like to work out in a t-shirt.  That's just how I have always worked out (probably the baller in me - during basketball practices and workouts I always wore a t-shirt).  I'm not one for wearing cute workout tops - I've tried but I'm just way more comfy in a T.  I have taken a bunch of old t-shirts and trimmed the arms off a bit to be more like a capped sleeve and cut a deep V neckline so you can see a bit of a cute sports bra peeking out!

Some trimming ideas...

If you have a super big one, make it a angled top and cut the front shorter and let the back hang down over your bum in a round shape, sort of like this...

Or... Fringe it up!

2. I like my hair to be wayyy out of my face, lots of options here. Cute braids, headbands, bandanas and messy buns. Check out some of these looks...

3. Glowing, clean, fresh skin! About a half-hour before I go to work out I like to clean my skin really well.  I usually wash my face and then exfoliate to slough off dull skin.  I also apply a nice luminating moisturizer, a brightening eye cream and a little lip balm (a great skin routine to do on a daily basis either way).

These are some of the products I like...

Laura Mercier: Flawless Skin Face Polish

"This effective scrub cleanses and exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to leave skin smooth and even-toned. Suitable for all skin types, Face Polish helps remove dead skin cells with purifying microbeads, while emollients soften the skin."

Body Shop: Vidamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream

"A daily moisturizing cream with light diffusing particles that helps to protect the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth with a luminous, healthy-looking glow."

Caudalie: Premier Cru

"This highly active formula targets all signs of aging around the eyes: wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dehydration, dark circles, dark spots, puffiness, malnourishment, and loss of radiance."

Jack Black: Lip Balm

"Field tested in extreme conditions, this hydrating balm contains antioxidants and superior moisturizers to provide lasting treatment benefits. It provides broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection."

4. A little touch of waterproof mascara and your good to go! I don't suggest using waterproof mascara on a daily basis but once in a while never hurt anybody! Using it on a daily basis can cause lashes to become brittle and break over time.

Here are some great waterproof mascaras...

Dior: Diorshow Waterproof Mascara

Tarte: Lights, Camera, Splashes

"Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes! 4-In-1 Waterproof Mascara's waterproof formula gives you the bombshell lashes you love, and is guaranteed to stay put through rain, sweat or tears."

oXo

Ombre Hair

Hey Dolls!

Sooo I am sure you all have seen the huge trend that has hit hollywood like crazy! All the celebrities are doing it! It's called Ombre. It's so easy to maintain, especially if you are trying to grow out your hair.  It's all about ROOTS! But it has to be a nice smooth transition from dark to light.  There are soo many different shades of ombre you can do, dark brown to lighter brown, dark blonde to light blonde, the list goes on.  What I love about it is you can let your natural darker colour grow in as much as you want with little maintenance on the bottom lighter section of your hair.  One celeb that has been faithful to this look long before it became such a trend is Sarah Jessica Parker.  I'm sure you are all familiar with the look, she pulls it off great and was a real trend setter. Check out some of my fav ombre looks...

I have been loving this look for a while and finally decided to try it out myself! I went and got an estimate from a stylist to see how much it would cost me.  I was told around $200! Since my hair was pretty dark there was a lot of work involved.  I was big time down about that and did NOT want to drop that much $$$ on my hair. So I started looking for DIY (do-it-yourself) tutorials on youtube. I am pretty comfortable with dying my own hair I have been doing it on and off for years so I figured, why not! I went out and bought two boxes of bleach and toner and followed this really helpful step by step tutorial... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUCoKfHDPyI

I love my results and I am so happy I did it myself and saved around $180!! Check out the before and after...

Holiday Hair

Try one of these sexy holiday hair styles for your office party, or New Years Eve and you will be sure to turn some heads... check em out!

Faux Bob

For those of you with longer locks that are looking to rock a short haired look for the night, rather then chopping it off because your craving a change (and might regret afterwards) try this faux bob look...

Untamed tight curls

Tighter curls are becoming more and more popular.  To put a current twist to traditional ringlets, mess them up.  Once you have curled your whole head, shake your head upside down and spray with hair spray.  Some inspiration...

French Twist

A french twist is always in style.  It is a timeless, classy and elegant look.  Check out my fav ways to rock this look...

Braids

Hair braiding has been around for thousands of years and will be a trend for thousands to come I'm sure. Here is a little history for you guys... Hair braiding has been traced all the way back to a picture of the mummy Queen Nedjmet (1070-946 B.C.E.). Nedjmet lived and ruled in the ancient African civilization of Kush, now known as the Sudan.  Which means that hair braiding has been around for... well a LONG time!

Head Bands

For the holiday season, go for a glammed out head band with sequins and crystal detailing.  Check out these looks...

Glam Waves

This look is so elegant and old hollywood.  This is probably my fav holiday hair look...

Side-shaved Look

We have seen this look on a lot of celebs this year, but for a normal person who has to go to work on Monday shaving the side of your head isn't always the most professional look.  Here are ways to create the look without the jaw dropping reaction...

Loose curly locks

Loose curls are sexy and flirty and really soften the face.  To achieve celebrity curls likes these, instead of starting the curling iron at the bottom of the hair and then rolling it up (this gives more of a ringlet look) take the peice of hair you are curling and wrap it around the curling iron rod then clamp it down.  This will give you more of a loose curl and they will turn out looking like this....
