Less is More

Hey All!

For those of you that know me well, you know this isn't a saying that I live by.  But I know there are a lot of girls out there that do, so this post is for them!  Don't usually wear make-up?  Want to start applying some, but you don't want to look like it took you forever? This post is going to be about applying easy, fresh, natural make-up.  This is even great for girls who do like to wear makeup but are in a rush and want to liven up their look in a matter of minutes.

The reason why I love makeup and why most do, is because it polishes off your look.  When I get dressed in the morning I would just feel incomplete without doing my regular make-up routin.  If you want to achieve that polished look without too much effort or time here are a few tips!

1) Clear eyelash/eyebrow Gel

If you don't have the time to fill in your brows even just giving them a little shape and setting them in place with a brow gel will make all the difference.  To me eyebrows are soo important and really draw attention to your eyes and really your whole face.  If the brow is misshapen or hairs are pointing every which way, just gently run some brow gel through them, brushing the beginning of the brow up and then pulling the rest of the brow into shape.  This will take a matter of seconds but will help you look polished and groomed.

2) Matte Shadow

I love matte shadow, it looks classy and timeless and really goes with anything.  If you don't want to look over done with shinny, sparkly or frosty eye shadow, pick up a neutral palette of matte eye shadows.  Look for a pallet that includes 4 shades, a light, medium, dark, and darker colour.  For everyday, simply apply the light shade underneath your brow blending down into the medium shade which you can apply all over your lid.  If you want to spice things up apply the dark or darker shade in the crease for a little drama.  Make sure to blend!

3) Concealer

Concealer does exactly what it says, conceals any imperfections from a scar you have had for years, to a lovely little surprise pimple that has landed right on your chin over night.  If you don't want to apply a full face of makeup but want to cover up a few imperfections, find a concealer that matches your skin perfectly.  If this is difficult for you just ask for help and the cosmetic staff  will be glad to help you.  Just apply a small amount onto problem areas, under eye darkness, pimples, acne scars etc.  I like to use my finger but you can also use a sponge or brush, make sure to blend the edges out evenly into the rest of your skin!  There you have it, flawless natural looking skin in minutes!

4) Cheek Colour

Adding a little bit of colour to the cheek makes anyone look better.  If you are looking for something you can just dust on your cheeks quickly without worrying if you put too much or if it looks unnatural, pick up a mixed blush colour that has multiple shades as well as highlighters and bronzers all blended into one.  These products usually come in light, medium and dark shades.  Depending on your skin tone choose accordingly, if you are fair choose something with light pinks, bronzers and highlights if you are darker choose something with a little more depth. They look like this and usually have mineralize in the name...

5) Lip Colour

If you are looking for a no fuss no muss lip application, stay away from matte lipsticks that are bright or dark in colour, they must be applied with great precision.  Pick up a gloss that is clear, has a shine, sparkle or a tint of colour any thing that jumps out at you!  There are also lip balms with a tint of colour that also moisturize the lips.  Have fun with it and pick something that smells and tastes great!

So there you have it, five products to an easy, fast, natural look!  Hope that helps you guys out, happy make-up-ing!!
